Advocacy in Action
Kids That Care Club was founded in 2014 as a means to involve youth of all ages to support and advocate for human rights and social justice for all. Built on the foundation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), our members are dedicated advocates to reduce poverty, improve knowledge about health and hygiene, reduce preventable deaths of children and reduce the inequities that are prevalent throughout the world.
Global Goal Advocates
What are the Global Goals? In 2015, all member states of the UN adopted the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development which was developed as a blueprint for action to achieve peace and prosperity for people and the planet. At its heart are the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which aim to end poverty, improve health and education, reduce inequality, and spur economic growth.
KTCC members are advocates for the SDGs that are dedicated to #1 Reduced Poverty, #2 Zero Hunger, #3 Health and Hygiene, #4 Quality Education, #5 Gender Equality, #6 Water & Sanitation, #8 Decent work and economic growth, and #10 Reduced inequalities.
Our advocacy will address the not only those social ills that are prevalent in low income countries but that of our own communities. Our awareness campaigns may include how the lack of equal access to healthcare education and services is one of the primary causes of the high rates of sexually transmitted disease, or how the barriers are preventing the disabled from enjoying services that are primarily available for able bodied persons with financial means, or how the growing crisis of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) is contributing to early death of young adults. These are but a few of the social ills that are prevalent in our own country.
Join us and find out how you too can get involved in this exciting movement to make the world a better place to live. Email: susan@kidsthatcareclub.com
